Review To the Women Left Behind “The production itself was a mixed bag. Director Debbie Murphy-Eden got good performances from all five of her actors... but only one performance could be described as riveting. That performance was Michelle Hebert’s Marta... Ms. Hebert has a naturalness of stage that few amateurs seem to possess and in an understated, quiet way, she stole every scene in which she appeared. There was one wonderful scene in the second half in which the curtain was opened and images of the beaches of Normandy and other battle scenes were projected onto the back screen.....Overall it was an enjoyable and thought-provoking performance that crept on the edges of excellence, but stopped just a bit short.” Marni Weisz, Evening -Times Globe, November 13 1998 Return to archive page
