Set in racially divided Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930s, To Kill a Mockingbird is the coming-of-age story of Jean Louise "Scout" Finch.  When her father, a local lawyer, agrees to defend a young black man accused of raping a white woman, Scout - and the town - learn a powerful lesson about prejudice, injustice and humanity.
