Community Outreach

The company offers a community outreach program in partnership with The Greater Saint John Community Foundation whereby theatre tickets are donated to targeted groups that normally would not attend live theatre productions.

 Greater Saint John Community Foundation

"After seeing the show, several students wanted to read the play and some tutors have started working with them on this initiative. Most students and some tutors had no idea the original play was written over 100 years ago. Some have now gone to the library and taken out different books by Oscar Wilde. By making the play more accessible to today’s audience, the SJTC has helped introduce a new genre of literature to students who would not usually read either drama or fiction. By making the performance so enjoyable, you have helped students realize that theatre is fun.” - Jean Peters, Read Saint John, comments about her students attending the November 2010 performance of The Importance of Being Earnest as part of SJTC's community outreach program.
