Saint John Theatre Company's Second
Stage will be holding an upcoming information session
on:
SCENE DESIGN FOR
THEATRE!
Over the years, the Saint John
Theatre Company has staged a wide array of productions. Each play or
musical has benefited from a unique and creative set that has
elevated our production values to another level. Audiences from all
over have consistently praised the quality and professionalism of
our sets.
But have you ever wondered what elements go
into designing a set from scratch? The Saint John Theatre Company:
Second Stage will be conducting an informative introductory
presentation on the basics of scene design for the theatre. Led by
veteran set designer Brian Goodwin, the session will be held on
Saturday, January 31st at 1 pm in the Saint John Theatre Company
Loft, 86 Prince William Street, 4th floor. Topics that will be
covered include:
- Different Theatrical/Physical
Forms
- Role of the Scene Designer
- Scene design as a Visual
Art
- The Role of the Design
- The Design Process

Presentation of the Design
Second Stage is a division
of the Saint John Theatre Company, and this event is open to
non-members and members alike. No previous theatrical or set design
experience is required. This is a fascinating way to learn more
about what goes on from a creative, conceptual and visual point of
view when preparing to mount a Main Stage production! Admission is
free to this activity. We'll see you on January 31st at 1
pm!
