CHICAGO

November 20-22, 2008 at Imperial Theatre

by John Kander and Fred Ebb

"With the right song and dance, you can get away with murder."

As a jazz band plays a brief overture, we find out that Roxy Hart has just killed her former lover. Set in the roaring 20s, Chicago tells a delicious story of murder, intrigue and show business in a satirical look at corruption and criminal justice. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, Chicago combines spectacle and scintillation in a show it would be a crime to miss.

CRIMES OF THE HEART

March 19-21, 2009 at Imperial Theatre

by Beth Henley

"There are plenty of good sane reasons to shoot another person and I'm sure that Babe had one."

The reunion of the three McGrath sisters in Hazlehurst, Mississippi is bittersweet.  Lenny is still unmarried at 30, Meg is recovering from a failed singing career, and Babe is out on bail for shooting her husband. Rich in comedy and satire, Beth Henley’s play is a humorous examination of the sometimes frayed edges of sisterly bonds.

ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST

May 21-23, 2009 at Imperial Theatre

by Ken Kesey, adapted for stage by Dale Wasserman

“I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.”

Nurse Ratched rules even the smallest details of the lives of a ward of men in a mental institution. However, a new patient’s cocky challenge, “I’m thinkin’ a takin’ over this whole shebang,” ignites a power struggle that holds both the promise of freedom…and the threat of death.
